Driving and taking your exam in Rotterdam
Rotterdam is big-city exam driving at its most demanding. Trams on dedicated tracks with priority situations, wide multi-lane roads through the city, tunnels, and the large bridges over the Nieuwe Maas: the learner must constantly choose, observe, and keep moving. Hesitation stands out here more than the occasional confident maneuver.
The ring road formed by the A20 and A16 is among the busiest stretches of motorway in the country, with heavy truck traffic to and from the port. Merging at speed, zip-merging, and getting into lane in good time are standard parts of the exam. In the outer districts and neighboring municipalities, turbo roundabouts and busy cycle crossings add to that.
At the same time, Rotterdam is more than just busy. The routes also pass through quiet postwar neighborhoods with generous road profiles, along shopping streets with loading and unloading, and through the port area, where the roads are wide but the trucks are numerous. That variety means a learner here is tested on every front. Anyone who passes in Rotterdam is ready for any traffic in the Netherlands.
In this region especially, as an instructor you don’t want to lose time to waiting periods and paperwork. We book, exchange and reschedule exams at the CBR location in Rotterdam for instructors from the city and surrounding municipalities such as Schiedam, Capelle aan den IJssel and Ridderkerk, with one fixed price per exam.
