Driving and taking your exam in Nijmegen
As the oldest city in the Netherlands, Nijmegen is also one of the more challenging exam cities. The city sits against a push moraine, so slopes and the hill start are simply part of the deal: pulling away on an uphill street in the eastern neighborhoods is everyday practice. Add to that the ring roads, bus lanes, and the heavy cycling traffic to and from the campus.
The river Waal shapes the rest of the picture. The Waalbrug and De Oversteek bridges channel all traffic between the city and the Waalsprong, where the new housing developments around Lent are still growing. During rush hour, the bridges and the Prins Mauritssingel get seriously congested, and it is precisely there that a learner practices zip-merging and keeping distance.
For one week a year, Nijmegen becomes the center of the country: during the Vierdaagse in July, routes are closed off and the town center belongs to walkers and revelers. Instructors in the region plan around it. For the rest of the year, the hills toward Groesbeek and the dikes along the Waal offer beautiful and instructive countryside routes.
We book exams at the CBR location in Nijmegen for instructors in the Rijk van Nijmegen and Maas en Waal areas, from Wijchen and Beuningen to Malden and Groesbeek. Fixed price, fast dates, and a single point of contact.
