Driving and taking your exam in Meppel
Meppel is a compact exam city at the junction of the A28 and A32, which meet near Lankhorst. The town center, with its canals, bridges and one-way streets, calls for precision, while the motorways and the open country roads toward Staphorst and Steenwijk instead test speed and anticipation.
The region has a few quirks that every instructor here knows well. In season, tourist traffic heads to Giethoorn and the Weerribben-Wieden along the provincial roads, with visitors who are unsure of the way and brake suddenly. And on the cobbled roads through the ribbon villages of Nijeveen and De Wijk, speed feels higher than the road actually allows.
Staphorst deserves a special mention: the long ribbon village along the old main road, with driveways, cyclists and crossing traffic stretching for kilometers, is a masterclass in anticipation. Anyone who drives through it cleanly has grasped the trade.
We book exams at the CBR location in Meppel for instructors in southwest Drenthe and the Kop van Overijssel. One fixed price and a suitable date arranged quickly.
