Driving and taking your exam in Doetinchem
Doetinchem is the exam centre for the Achterhoek region. Within the town itself, learners drive a mix of urban roundabouts, through roads and shopping areas, with the A18 and N18 providing fast connections to Varsseveld and beyond. It’s a clear, manageable environment, but with enough variation to test every part of the exam.
The real Achterhoek challenge lies in the surrounding countryside: narrow roads with soft verges, ribbon-shaped farming villages, bridges over the Oude IJssel, and, depending on the season, plenty of agricultural traffic. Passing on tight profiles and dealing with tractors pulling onto the road are simply part of the training here.
Cyclists also deserve attention: in the morning and afternoon, streams of schoolchildren head from the villages to schools in town, often riding side by side in groups. And towards Zeddam and ‘s-Heerenberg, German cross-border traffic adds to the mix, since the border lies just a few kilometres away.
For driving instructors across the Achterhoek, from Zelhem and Wehl to Terborg and Varsseveld, we book exams at the CBR in Doetinchem. You decide when your student is ready, we take care of the date.
